The long-awaited Test Track reopening on EPCOT finally has a date set to happen: 22 July 2025. Since Disney revealed images of what the new attraction would look like, I confess I was curious to see what she would look like after she was repelled.
Test Track closed for renovation in June 2024 with the promise to bring a totally different experience. That is, new scenes, new soundtrack and a more immersive approach to technology and mobility, as already announced in this post.
What can we expect with the reopening of Test Track on EPCOT
According to Disney, the new version will celebrate the technological advances and the connection between people and vehicles, entitled to six distinct exhibitions and impressive visual effects.
The attraction cars won a new design, now with more sophisticated lines inspired by research and development. The color palette was darkened, and the interior underwent a complete renovation, with unprecedented seats, new graphics elements and enhanced lighting.

Along the queue, you can explore six thematic areas that honor the development of mobility. In addition, it has the opportunity to see the visionary people who have driven these transformations.
The new scenes highlight the customization of cars, the technology on board and the emotional connection with the act of driving.
The outdoor final part remains electrifying, now with a new setting that matches the renewed look of the attraction.
A nod to the past: the homage to World of Motion
It is noteworthy that the new version of Test Track was inspired by the classic attraction World of Motion, one of the EPCOT's originals that ran from 1982 to 1996. Created in partnership with General Motors, she took visitors on a fun journey through the history of means of transport, combining humor, animatronics and a lot of creativity. It was a celebration of the progress of human mobility — from rudimentary inventions to the age of modern automobile.
Now, Disney resumes that essence by reimagining the Test Track, paying homage to the origins of the park while looking to the future. The idea is to reconnect visitors with the evolution of mobility, exploring not only the technology, but also the emotional link we have with the experience of directing.
The fact that the attraction was inspired by the classic “World of Motion” made me even more curious. After all, it is always exciting to see how Disney can unite nostalgia and innovation in such a creative way.
