Therefore, it is an interesting alternative for younger children who have not yet reached the necessary height for some of the park's roller coasters.

What is the lowest height required for an Epic Universe attraction?

Currently, the lowest minimum height among restricted attractions is 87 cm, required by Yoshi's Adventure.

There are also attractions that do not establish a minimum height, such as Constellation Carousel and Fyre Drill, although there are accompanying rules for children under 122 cm.

This means that Epic Universe offers some good options even for families traveling with young children.

What is the greatest minimum height in Epic Universe?

The highest minimum height among the park's attractions is 122 cm.

This limit currently applies to:

  • Stardust Racers;
  • Dragon Racer's Rally;
  • Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment.

Therefore, a child under 122 cm will not be able to participate in these three attractions.

What can a 87cm child do in Epic Universe?

A child who is approximately 87 cm tall can already participate in some park experiences, but will still be left out of several attractions with higher requirements.

Among the options are:

  • Yoshi's Adventure;
  • Constellation Carousel;
  • Astronomical;
  • Fyre Drill;
  • Viking Training Camp.

In addition, your child can enjoy all of the park's themed areas, restaurants, shops, characters and entertainment, even when they cannot participate in certain attractions.

What can a 40-inch kid do in Epic Universe?

When you reach 102 cm, the number of attractions available increases significantly.

The child is now able to participate, respecting the monitoring rules, in:

  • Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge;
  • Mine-Cart Madness;
  • Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry;
  • Hiccup's Wing Gliders;
  • Curse of the Werewolf.

In addition, she can also participate in attractions with no minimum height and Yoshi's Adventure.

The attractions that require 122 cm are still left out:

  • Stardust Racers;
  • Dragon Racer's Rally;
  • Monsters Unchained.

What can a 122 cm child do in Epic Universe?

When reaching 122 cm, the child reaches the highest height requirement among the Epic Universe attractions.

This releases:

  • Stardust Racers;
  • Dragon Racer's Rally;
  • Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment.

In addition to all attractions with lower demands.

Still, height is not the only factor. Some experiences have intense motion, horror effects, water or other features that may not be suitable for all children.

Height table: what attractions can the child do?

This is a practical way to think about planning:

👶 Less than 87 cm

The child will not be able to participate in Yoshi's Adventure, but there are experiences with no minimum height, such as Constellation Carousel and Fyre Drill, always respecting the specific accompanying rules.

🧒 From 87 cm

The child can now participate in:

  • Yoshi's Adventure.

And also attractions with no minimum height, respecting their rules.

🧒 From 102 cm

In addition to the above, you can participate in:

  • Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge;
  • Mine-Cart Madness;
  • Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry;
  • Hiccup's Wing Gliders;
  • Curse of the Werewolf.

🧑 From 122 cm

In addition to all the above, you can participate in:

  • Stardust Racers;
  • Dragon Racer's Rally;
  • Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment.

Do children need to be accompanied on attractions?

Yes. However, the minimum height does not necessarily mean that the child will be able to enter alone.

Universal establishes rules for Supervising Companion, or responsible companion, for several attractions.

In general, children under 122 cm who reach the minimum height of the attraction must be accompanied by someone who meets the requirements defined by Universal. The official guide also establishes specific rules for each attraction.

Therefore, it is not enough to just check the minimum height. Also check the requirement for a companion before traveling.

How to measure your child before traveling to Orlando?

A good idea is to measure your child at home before the trip and write down their height in centimeters and inches.

This helps you get a sense of what attractions will be available.

For example:

  • 87 cm = 34 inches
  • 102 cm = 40 inches
  • 122 cm = 48 inches

But don't count on a difference of just a few centimeters to be able to enter an attraction.

Universal carries out measurements in the parks and, therefore, can prevent access when the visitor does not reach the established minimum height.

Is it worth measuring again before entering the attraction?

Yes. Even if you measured your child at home, Universal staff may check their height upon entry or during the boarding process.

Therefore, if the child is very close to the limit, it is best not to create expectations that they will necessarily be able to participate.

What to do if your child is not tall enough for an attraction?

It doesn't mean she will be without fun. Epic Universe has attractions and areas aimed at different ages, and some experiences have no minimum height.

In addition, Universal offers Child Swap, a feature that allows adults to take turns enjoying an attraction while another adult remains with the child who cannot or does not want to participate.

Before your trip, it's also worth checking Universal's official safety and accessibility information, which details the rules for each attraction.

Tips for those going to Epic Universe with children

1. Check the heights before putting together your itinerary

Be sure to find out about height restrictions until you arrive at the park.

So, make a list of the attractions that the child can participate in and create an itinerary based on that. This helps maintain the family's schedule and prevent children from becoming frustrated when they discover they can't go on a certain ride.

2. Don't just consider height

A child can reach 122 cm and still not enjoy an intense roller coaster or an attraction with monsters and horror effects. Additionally, also note the type of experience.

3. Enjoy the attractions with no minimum height

For young children, Constellation Carousel, Astronomica, Fyre Drill and Viking Training Camp can be good alternatives.

4. Use Child Swap when necessary

If adults in the group want to participate in an attraction that the child cannot do, check Child Swap availability. Child Swap allows adults to take turns riding an attraction when a child can't or won't participate. While one adult stays with the child, the others enjoy the attraction and then change places without having to go through the entire line again.

5. Check out the information on the Universal app

The official Universal Orlando Resort app allows you to consult attraction information and can be useful during planning and visiting.

6. Check the rules again before your trip

Height requirements and safety rules may change.

Universal informs that details are subject to change. Therefore, this article should serve as a planning guide, but the park's official information must always prevail on the day of the visit.
