He barely recovered from the hurricane. Helene (at the end of September) and Florida already suffers a new threat with the arrival of a new hurricane, which should reach the state next Wednesday, October 9, 2024.
O Hurricane Millton strengthened and on the morning of Monday (October 7, 2024) was elevated to the category 5, the highest of all, with winds that can reach 250 km/h!
In short, the consequences of this new hurricane must be far greater than Helene.
Authorities have issued several evacuation alerts to Costa residents West – which covers the coastal region of Tampa, Charlotte, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas and Sarasota.
But, as we have said in previous blog posts here (see below), the central Florida region – which includes Orlando – is rarely hit directly. But, of course, it feels the impacts of the hurricane that are usually very strong storms, some regions with flooding and energy drops.

So if you're in Orlando during this period, don't despair!
Be informed at the hotel where you are staying, follow their recommendations and avoid leaving the hotel at all costs during the storms.
WHAT TO HOPE OF THE MILTON FURACEN
At press conference held on the morning of Monday, the governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis suspended the toll roadways in Tampa Bay, Central Florida and Alligator Alley to help facilitate evacuations, in addition to saying that it is preparing the roadsides to provide more space for drivers to drive.
According to U.S. Hurricane Center (NHC) – official body that monitors hurricane conditions –, the storm must weaken before reaching the coast, but it is still likely to be a large and powerful hurricane that, in addition to leaving numerous floods and strong winds, must bring down the energy of much of the state.
More than 10,000 energy company workers have already begun to prepare for great demand, including teams from Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana who are going to Florida to help restore power after the storm.
WHAT OPENS AND WHAT CLOSES IN ORLATING
Airports
Both Orlando International Airport as to Orlando Executive Airport have reported that They will suspend their operations on the morning of Wednesday due to Hurricane Milton. The exact time has not yet been informed, but according to a press release, both will resume their business operations as soon as possible based on damage assessment.
Therefore, if you have a scheduled trip, both on your way to Orlando and back to Brazil, keep an eye on the schedule and check with your airline whether or not your flight will be cancelled due to the storm.
Aquatica Orlando
Aquatica Orlando Park reported that will be closed on Monday, October 7, 2024, and will be monitoring the weather forecast to reopen as soon as possible.
Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens
They reported that will be closed from Tuesday to Thursday (from 8 to 10 October 2024).
Legoland
Legoland announced that it will close its park on 9 and 10 October 2024 (fourth and Thursday, respectively).
Peppa Pig Theme Park
The park announced that it will be closed from Tuesday (October 8, 2024) to Thursday (October 10, 2024).
By the close of this story, the other theme parks (Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resorts, Sea World, Busch Gardens, Kennedy Space Center, Island H2O Live) were operating normally without any prediction of closure.
