The second one, which I hadn't told you about, is about where Jellyrolls ended up -- because he didn't disappear, he just changed his address, and that changes the way I think about recommending this part of the script to people who love nightlife at Walt Disney World.
Let's go in pieces.
What's gonna open in place of Jellyrolls?
Disney's BoardWalk is that charming boardwalk inspired by the coastal boardwalks of the early last century, like those of Atlantic City and Coney Island. It is right next to EPCOT, on the edge of Crescent Lake. It has always been one of my favorite songs to recommend to those who want to escape a little of the classic park circuit without leaving the Disney world.
After more than a year of speculation, Disney confirmed that the Hurly-Burly The setting refers to a historic seaside theater, with a proposal to tell a "history that goes through more than a century" of BoardWalk — the same kind of storytelling Disney already uses in other thematic spaces of the complex.
Along with Hurly-Burly, Disney also confirmed the arrival of a new store, the Basin on the BoardWalkAnd it signaled that a fast-service restaurant is on its way, which means that this BoardWalk recast is bigger than just swapping one bar for another.
Hurly-Burly: two different climates in the same space
What draws my attention most in Hurly-Burly is the proposal to work in two completely different formats throughout the day.
In the afternoon, the space receives the whole family, with trivia and other games commanded by a host. It is a format similar to what Disney Cruise Line already does in some ship lounges — functional during the day, more sophisticated at night.
At night, the climate changes: Hurly-Burly turns into a live music house, exclusive to over 21 years old, with litoral-inspired drinks and light snacks. It’s worth a point of attention here: so far there’s no official confirmation about the musical style. Backstage comments circulate suggesting something close to a jazz club. But that’s still speculation from specialized sites, not official Disney information — so I wouldn’t put that as sure in your planning.
Basin on the BoardWalk: the sensory store
Basin arrives with the proposal to be a “sensory shopping experience”, and not just a souvenir shop. Visitors will find a counter to combine personalized bath teas, a soap-making station and a press to record them.
Among the products, will be natural soaps, herbal bath salts, bath pumps, body butters, lip balms and shampoo bars and conditioner.
There are other Basin units already on Walt Disney World, but this will be the first on BoardWalk. The store will occupy the former space of the Promenade Fine Art Gallery, closed in 2025.
In practice, it's a quick stop for those who like to take a different souvenir from a character shirt. Still, I wouldn't organize a visit to BoardWalk depending on Basin.
It works best as a complement to a walk you already intend to do there.
The fast-service restaurant is still an unknown
When the announcement came out in June 2026, Disney confirmed only a new quick-service restaurant on BoardWalk. The company promised more details “still this American summer.”
Until August 2026, however, these details continue without official confirmation, so it is worth caution before including the restaurant on short-term trips.
Current signs are indirect. BoardWalk specialized sites record works, barriers and movement in the old Big River Grille space & Brewing Works.
The restaurant has been closed since the beginning of 2024. The fan community bets that it will give way to the new quick service, but Disney has not yet confirmed this.
The novelty makes sense for the resort region of EPCOT. BoardWalk, Yacht Club, Beach Club, Swan and Dolphin have few quick meal options.
A quick service there would meet a real need for those who stay in this area.
And the original Jellyrolls, where did it go?
Here's the part that matters most to whoever really loved Jellyrolls: he's coming back.
According to information confirmed to Orlando Sentinel by the administration, the bar is building a new space in Lake Buena Vista. The site will be less than 10 minutes from the old address on BoardWalk.
The inauguration is scheduled for the end of summer or early autumn of 2026. The new unit must maintain characteristics that have been successful for almost 30 years.
Among them are special cocktails, signature popcorn and exclusive entry for over 21 years old. The musical repertoire should also avoid excessively sexual or violent lyrics.
That is, if you loved Jellyrolls for piano duels and karaoke weather, he didn't disappear.
This changes the decision of script for those who want to relive this experience, and not just know something new.
Is Hurly-Burly worth including in the script?
My reading is yes, especially for those who already know the parks and are looking for something different to do outside the circuit of attractions — but this changes depending on your travel profile:
First trip with a few days: I would not prioritize either Hurly-Burly or the "new" Jellyrolls in front of the main parks and attractions. This kind of program makes more sense for those who have already risked the basics of the script on previous trips.
Couples and adults without children: Hurly-Burly has everything to be a good alternative evening program to the most well-known bars, especially if you like to walk the BoardWalk after dinner. Families with children: the afternoon format, with trivia and games, is a cool way to take a break in the parks without leaving the Disney climate, but I wouldn't put it as an absolute priority on a trip of a few days.
Original Jellyrolls Nostalgic Fans Depending on the time of your trip, it may make more sense to book a night to discover the new home of the Jellyrolls in Lake Buena Vista than to test the Hurly-Burly, which is still an unknown in terms of repertoire and atmosphere.
Attention points before planning
- Neither Hurly-Burly nor Basin have an exact opening date — only the officially released "end 2026" forecast. Before booking accommodation thinking about using these spaces on a specific date, it is worth checking updates closer to the trip.
- The quick-service restaurant continues without confirmation of name, menu or date — don't count on it to solve your meal logistics on BoardWalk at this time.
- Hurly-Burly's nighttime is restricted to over 21 years, so anyone traveling with young children will only enjoy the daytime version.
- BoardWalk is with works happening at more than one point at the same time (Hurly-Burly, Basin and the future restaurant), which can mean tapumes and construction noise during your visit, depending on when you go.
