Thus, the news marks the expansion of Disney magic to the Middle East, more specifically in the vibrant Yas Island. So this one promises to be the most technologically advanced to date, consolidating the region as a new global entertainment hub.
This will therefore be the first Disney park on the continent and the Seventh theme park of the company.
In fact, the announcement was made yesterday at a spectacular show in Yas Links and had as background the edge of Yas Island. The event included not only important company names but also several global celebrities.
What will be the new Disney Park in Abu Dhabi
According to Disney CEO Bob Iger, the park will be "authentically Disney and distinctly Emirates", combining iconic narratives with vibrant local culture. Soon, the resort will include innovative attractions, thematic accommodation, unique dining experiences and exclusive shops, all in a stunning seaside setting.
Josh D’Amaro, president of Disney Experiences, pointed out that, in addition, this will be Disney’s most advanced and interactive park to date, taking advantage of its unique location to tell stories in completely new ways.
Yas Island: the island that will house the new Disney Park
Yas Island is now known for hosting internationally renowned attractions such as Ferrari World, Warner Bros. World and SeaWorld Abu Dhabi.

The project will be developed by Miral, the leading creator of other attractions on Yas Island, while Disney Imagineering will lead creative design and operational supervision.
Disney will license its intellectual properties and receive royalties based on the project's revenues, without investing equity, replicating the successful model used at Tokyo Disneyland Resort.
When can we visit the new Disney Park in Abu Dhabi?
Disney has not yet revealed an expected construction date or even an opening date. But it is estimated that companies will take about five years to complete it, taking into account the design and construction phases.
