News coming to Disney in 2026
One of the news - and perhaps the main one - that arrives at Disney parks is undoubtedly the attraction Space Ranger Spin. Buzz Lightyear's toy, Magic Kingdom, will therefore go through updates and will be a bit repelled.
The attraction will close in August 2025 and reopen in 2026 with some news. The first is the inclusion of a new scene with an unpublished character.
Right at the beginning of the adventure, Buddy — a friendly little robot created by Walt Disney Imagineering and Pixar Animation Studios — welcomes visitors. It plays a key role in the Star Command team, ensuring that everyone in Space Rangers is ready to carry out final systems checks on Star Cruise's ride vehicles.
And speaking of Star CruiseDisney will update the vehicles and give them a new look. Inspired by the Star Command, carts will gain video monitors with real-time score, as well as “other interesting features”, as Disney herself pointed out — although still without revealing all the details (it is curious, isn’t it?).
The blasters anchored to the ships will give way to portable devices. These new equipment will feature a laser of two different colors. This will facilitate the aim, as well as unpublished effects of lighting, sound and vibration, helping players identify precisely where they are pointing during the mission.
And the news does not stop there: the targets, which today remain static in the attraction, will gain a totally interactive technology, capable of reacting and lighting whenever they are hit.
That is, the attraction will win a very cool UP for next year!
Disney: New shows already have announced opening date
One of the audience’s most anticipated shows, the “Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After” in Disney’s Hollywood StudiosIt's already got a date!
From the day 27 May 2025 (yes, this year!), the audience will be able to check out Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook and Maleficent will come to the stage next to the Magic Mirror for a show that promises to delight everyone!
The new show will come to replace Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy, located at the Sunset Showcase ed Sunset Boulevard, which has been closed since October 2024 to receive the show.
The show “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” also It opens on May 27th, 2025.
This new adaptation will feature puppets, digital characters and more, as well as impressive new scenarios. In addition, it will bring cutting-edge technological effects, a new design and two new musical numbers: “Daughters of Triton” and “Kiss the Girl”, as well as the traditional “Under the Sea” and “Part of Your World”.
The new show will be presented on Animation Courtyard TheaterDisney’s Hollywood Studios. It will arrive to replace the previous production “Voyage of the Little Mermaid”, which ran from 1992 until its closing in 2020.
